Black Mango is a love letter to my mother.

I’m going to be honest: growing up I had a difficult relationship with my mother. I felt unwanted and she struggled to take care of six children in a place where jobs and opportunities were scarce. As an adult I realized that while the conventional expressions of love I wanted from my mother were not accessible to her due to our lived reality, she she had a love language far more powerful that I failed to see: food. Whenever she had money my mother would make the most extravagant meal, enough for us but also for cousins, extended family and anyone who happened to drop by. These meals were her hugs. Each bite were her kisses. Every sizzle of her pot whispered “I love you.” So in the name of her favorite mango, I offer her love and her sweetness to everyone who gathers, now knowing food brings us together but it is those around the table who matter most.

An Boho-minimalist Birthday Supper Club
Private Client

We executed a fully-realized supper club experience from beginning to end. We handled branding, invites, coordination, decor, venue and all elements of production. The experience entailed a cocktail hour with rustic cheeses, amuse bouche, family-style main course, custom birthday cake and dessert activation. A live saxophonist serenaded guests as they ate, sealing the deal on this special milestone.

We brought together Black creatives to share their art and experience the power of connection. We partnered with Black business for every part of the experience, including activations, entertainment and a powerful community conversation.
